The Ace 250 has real ability and many things going for it. It is extremely light,
and that means more comfortable detecting hour after hour, greater convenience
in backpacking and traveling, and low-fatigue competition hunting. It is easy to
understand and fun to use. Most of all, it incorporates those wonderfully expensive
features into a most affordable package.

This is a great product from Garrett.Very easy to use .It is not a toy.
It was a great deal also as it came with 2 search coils.The only downside was the bag is a duffle bag and it dosent fit without taking apart. over all great buy!!Would tell anyone who wants to get in to metal detecting,this is the way to go for little money,it works very well.

Let me begin by echoing the praise this detector has received from others. For the price you won't find a better detector, period. That being said, if I were to make this purchase all over again, I would purchase the basic ace 250 with the standard coil. I'd hold off on the 9X12 coil and purchase the 4.5" sniper coil instead. I would also recommend an extra upper/lower pole assembly and bolt set. This allows you to quickly switch between coils with much less hassle. The sniper coil is more versatile than the 9X12 and makes it easier to learn how to distinguish exactly what's under the detector (target isolation). The only exception to this recommendation would be if you're intent is to use this detector solely on the beach. If that's the case, get the ace 250 with the standard coil and the Garrett pro pin-pointer. Be sure to purchase a decent set of headphones and coil covers. The sports package includes headphones which aren't so great (no volume control), and I'm all set with the duffel bag, weather cover and treasure hunters book. All three coils are great but if you're just starting out you really don't need everything right away. Take time to learn your detector, don't get discouraged by trash there's a lot of it and it's everywhere.

This product is JUNK! JUNK!! JUNK!!! If your looking for a metal detector look at Whites Detectors!!! and plan on spending $1000 dollars at least,or dont buy one at all, you will be in the same boat as me,wasting $300 dollars on Junk!!! The ace 250 has alot of problems as far as depth, metal readout you name it!!! you never know what your digging or what it is. A gold ring showed up between iron and a 5cent piece,copper showed up as a $1 silver piece and so on!!! maxium depth readout was supposed to be 8plus inches HAH GOOD LUCK!!! Deepest target mine will read is 2 inches. I never found any items I listed, these were free air tests, the only thing I found was a nail!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY!!! LOOK at all the used ones vs new that should explain my review!!!
